Summary: Bogged down with homework from my Software Development class and fresh out of my mobile engineering co-op, I went to this game jam all too aware of the importance of scope. Then the inspiration struck me-- it would be so cathartic if I could make a game about developers fighting against the terrors of feature creep! I pitched this to a team of people I had never worked with before, and Feature Creepy was born!
My Roles: I learned a completely new engine and language called HaxeFlixel for this game jam. Besides leading the discussion on the game's design and mechanics, I wrote code for the game's feature-threats, including DDR, the walrus, and player stats. I also handled the code for the features that make this game jam game look more polished than most-- the splash screens at the game's start and end, and the triggers for the animations when your character gets hurt or dies.
